Daybed mattresses are usually twin -sized, since this is the standard size for daybed, and should be 8 ½” high or less. A mattress that is too high will make the bed lose its sofa feel . A higher mattress will also not be suitable for the pop-up trundle since it wont give enough clearance for the trundle to work.
